About IICS 4.1 Certified Offshore Crane Inspector

IICS 4.1 is designed to certify Offshore Crane Inspector. There are two levels in total depending on the working experience of the crane inspector. Qualification is given based on practical and theory tests.  

Eligibility

To be eligible for certification, candidates must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Meet experience requirements
  • Meet medical requirements
  • Pass the eye test
  • Pass the written examination

Associated Crane Inspector

minimum of 2 years (within the recent 3 years)

  • Experience in crane-related assignments, or
  • Related to duties and responsibilities of an Assonated Crane Inspector under qualified supervision, independently verified
Offshore Crane Inspector minimum of 2 years (within the recent 3 years)
  • Conducts inspection of cranes, based on usage, condition and performance

Crane Operators or Maintenance Technicians, Supervisors or Foreman

QA/QC Personnel in the field of crane manufacturing, maintenance or repair

Note: In order to get approved for the examination it will be required to attend the crane inspector training.

  • Crane related work experience

Medical Requirements

Certified Crane Inspectors (IICS 4.1A or IICS 4.1) must be in good physical health, sufficient enough to handle the physical demands that crane inspections require.
